Service is key to this church. Collection of stamps to redeem for money for missions to Africa in on-going. The 5-cents-a-meal collection occurs the second Sunday of every month and is sent to the Presbytery of the James as a contribution to combat hunger throughout the world. Special offerings sponsored by the Presbyterian Church USA are taken up 4 times a year.
The church responds to the disasters in the United States by sending “hope kits” which include cleaning supplies, school supplies, infant clothing, and health items.
Locally the church has been instrumental in the development and leadership of an interdenominational council of churches called Essex Churches Together (ECT). Support of the Bay Aging Adult Day Care Center is another local project of the church. Members visit and hold Bible classes as well as lead singing and help with crafts. A garden in the back of the Day Care Center was established by members of the church for the enjoyment of the clients. Contributions to the local food bank are another way of serving our community.

Of equal importance, there is a ministry to each other as members share times of joy as well as times of need. The congregation is an intimate group who has a special bond, and this is extended to all who come to worship. Please join us for refreshments every Sunday after the 10:00 service.
